About Me
Author, Educator and Therapist helping you reclaim your voice, your body, and your belonging
Hi, I’m Dr. Andrea Eriks.
Clinical Sexologist, Therapist, and Author
For over a decade, I have had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and couples as they navigate the most intimate and complex parts of their lives. My work has always been rooted in a single, unwavering belief: You are not a problem to be solved; you are a person to be reclaimed.
The Journey to the Total Val-YOU Framework
In my years as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Sexology specialist, I noticed a recurring theme: most people aren't failing; they are simply operating in a profound state of Emotional Debt. Whether the drain comes from restrictive religious messaging, cultural expectations, or the quiet wear and tear of a "supposed to" life, the result is the same—a disconnection from your own body and a depletion of your internal economy.
I created the Total Val-YOU Framework to bridge the gap between clinical therapy and daily empowerment. It is a structured approach designed to help you stop reacting to the demands of the world and start intentionally investing in your own emotional wealth.
My Clinical Foundation
While my work has evolved into coaching and frameworks, my foundation remains in deep clinical practice and trauma-informed care. My expertise is grounded in rigorous training and a commitment to the highest standards of support:
- PhD in Clinical Sexology – Modern Sex Therapy Institutes
- Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) – State of Indiana
- EMDR Certified Therapist – Specialized in trauma-processing
- AASECT Member – American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists
The Science of Self: A Research-Based Approach
My work is not just about reflection; it is about results grounded in neuroscience and proven therapeutic techniques. I believe that understanding "why you do the things you do" is the first step toward lasting change. In our work together—whether through my framework or my clinical insights—I incorporate a deep understanding of Attachment Styles and Neurobiology to help you identify the patterns that keep you stuck.
I am particularly passionate about trauma healing through the lens of neuroscience. As an EMDR Certified Therapist, I utilize eye movement desensitization and reprocessing to help the body "reset" from traumatic triggers and chronic stress. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, while empowering you with the tools to build new, healthier coping mechanisms that help you feel more grounded and present in your daily life.
The Author: She Wants
I wrote my book, She Wants: A Married Woman's Guide to Exploring Desire, Healing Sexual Shame, and Building True Intimacy, for the woman who feels "fine" but knows she is missing a vital connection to her own longings. It serves as a roadmap for unlearning restrictive narratives and rebuilding a relationship based on truth and empowered choice rather than obligation.
The Heart Behind the Work
When I am not writing or working with clients, I am anchoring my own life in the simple rhythms of family. I live in Northern Indiana with my husband, our children, and our two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Mila and Aarika. I’ve learned firsthand that healing isn't a destination—it’s a daily practice of choosing connection over chaos.
Your Story is Worth the Investment
I believe that healing is not just possible; it is your birthright. Your story—messy, beautiful, and complex—is worthy of being told in full. If you are ready to stop surviving and start reclaiming your life, I am honored to be your guide.
